Overview
The 2023 Dodge Hornet offers Dodge’s first hybrid powertrain on top of a turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. We also expect to see a plethora of technology made standard like Uconnect 5 software. Let’s take a look.
Trims
These are the two trims that Dodge has released so far and their price points. Most auto manufacturers release a limited number of trims at the initial offering and then build from there, so we believe that there will eventually be more trims with various offerings. On their website it does show the R/T, but no price point or where to order one. And keep in mind that these prices are estimates and subject to change.
GT: $30,590
GT Plus: $35,490
Power
The 2023 Dodge Hornet is powered by a turbocharged 2-liter 4-cylinder paired to a 9-speed automatic that generates 268 horsepower. All-wheel drive is optional. The R/T is Dodge’s first hybrid made up of a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder with an electric motor paired to a 6-speed automatic transmission. The powertrain can also boost power by 25 hp with the PowerShot feature that's activated by pulling both paddle shifters. The R/T can go 30 miles per charge. Not only can it go 30 miles all electric, but it can reach 128 mph (if you can find somewhere to legally drive that fast), and gets to 60 mph in a cool 6.1 seconds. The PHEV engine is set to get up to 288 horsepower. Stay tuned for more fuel economy updates.
Interior
The 2023 Dodge Hornet offers roomy passenger space in the front but we expect it to be a little cramped in the back. The main controls and infotainment system are oriented around the driver on top of a tall shift lever in the center console. You’ll also find upscale black upholstery with red stitching, that Dodge claims is their take on luxury, a take which very much landed. A red leather interior will also be available on upscale trims. The interior may be a tad smaller than we hoped for, but the design is classy and focuses on providing a distinguished cabin tailored to you, the driver.
