In the meantime, learn more in this model guide.
21st-Century Fuel Economy
This is what you want the most, right? Why else buy an electronic vehicle if not for the stellar fuel economy and all that goes with it? The Chevy Bolt delivers 127 miles per gallon-equivalent in the city and 108 MPGe on the highway. Yes, you read those numbers right. That’s above average among electric cars this size, and leagues better than gas-burning cars. Better yet, charge the Bolt fully and it can go 259 miles before it needs a recharge. Outside of Teslas, that’s the longest range of any EV car.
There was a time that an electric vehicle could cost tens of thousands more than that, since they were viewed as a luxury item, out of reach for most budgets. But now we have electric vehicles like the 2020 Chevy Bolt, which starts at just $36,620. Standard features include MyLink infotainment system, 10.2-inch touch screen, Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi hot spot, six-speaker stereo, satellite radio, two USB ports, Bluetooth, remote start, push-button start, automatic climate control, Teen Driver safety system, and rearview camera. Inexpensive packages, such as the Comfort and Convenience or Driver Confidence packages, are available on the base trim.
The only other trim level is the Bolt Premier, starting at $41,020. The previously mentioned packages are already included, as well as leather upholstery, heated rear seats, false cargo floor for extra storage, rear center armrest, and surround-view parking camera system. If you want the best of the best, you can add the Infotainment package for just $595.
Those unfamiliar with modern electric cars might be surprised at the power at the 2020 Bolt’s disposal. In a word, the Bolt is speedy. It’s quick out of the gate and fun to drive. Under the hood lies a 200-horsepower electric motor paired with a 60-kWh lithium-ion battery pack and single-speed transmission. Thanks to a low center of gravity, the Bolt offers a composed ride. Precise steering and a nice turning radius makes the Bolt more fun to drive than any electronic car should be. You’re doing something nice for your wallet and the environment while having a blast.
